Water Tower and Reservoir Cleaning
For high level water towers, ground level tanks or underground reservoirs, the techniques required to conduct cleaning and disinfection are far more specialist than for a domestic water tank. As a result the control of substances hazardous to health regulation may apply.
Emergency and bulk cold water supplies are often contained at high level in water towers, in ground level tanks or underground in reservoirs that require a combination of rope and confined space access skills in order to inspect, maintain and clean them.
The techniques required to conduct cleaning and disinfection are more specialist in that significant amounts of water need to be pumped, air flow needs to be managed and chemical disinfection needs to be conducted through spraying rather than soaking. This presents hazards associated with Control of Substances Hazardous to Health Regulations (COSHH).
Typical applications include:
- MOD premises
- NHS estates
- University campuses
- Industrial sites
- Water company assets
Solutions we offer
At Nemco, we have the combined expertise, knowledge and skills to carry out inspection and cleaning of large volume water tanks wherever they are located. The project planning includes the production of site specific risk assessments, method statements and rescue plans and a post work report includes photographic or video images.
Where water disruption is a concern, Nemco is able to provide alternative bulk water supplies in the form of temporary tanks, or the tower or reservoir may be bypassed with a direct supply using an interim pumping solution.
In conjunction with a specialist partner, Nemco is able to conduct structural surveys of the condition of the tank or reservoir prior to refilling and re-commissioning the system.
