Legionella Awareness

If you have elected a representative to conduct any element of your Legionella Management Programme, it is essential that they are aware of the full risks associated with Legionella.

Legionella Awareness Course

Our Legionella Awareness Course is designed to provide the relevant person within your organisation with the information they need to not only conduct the appropriate checks, but to understand how and why these are in place.

The course is aimed at, but not exclusive to facilities supervisors, maintenance or site personnel responsible for the testing and compliance regime.

The half-day course covers the following topics:

  • What is Legionella and why is it harmful
  • Factors affecting growth
  • The law and ACOP L8

  • Record-keeping and monitoring requirements
  • Seasonal high cold water temperatures
  • Flushing methods and temperature testing

Aim of the Awareness Course

The aim of the Legionella Awareness Course is as follows:

  • To raise awareness of Legionella Control issues

  • To promote understanding of risks and their control or prevention

  • To inform delegates of their individual responsibilities

  • To equip delegates with the necessary information to monitor a site in accordance with the latest government guidance ACOP L8

Throughout the course, we host a number of group discussions in order for delegates to relate knowledge learnt to their own sites and understand best practice. Upon completion of the training course the delegates will be awarded with a certificate.
